Alright, so there has been a lot of information on reddit/forums regarding servers tick-rate, most of which is trolling garbage.

However, as I understand it, increasing the tick-rate of our private server should provide a better competitive server (in line with CS tickrate).

Now, my question is (as I know nothing about how the BF4/EA's servers are licensed/run), is it possible to pay more for our server to increase the tick-rate to 33/s, instead of what it currently is (10/s I believe)?

If we could, I would be more than interested in contributing to the server cost.

Just a thought, please educate.

Silk, the game runs at a tick rate of 10. There's nothing more you can do. It's how the netcode is designed to run. If we could get it back to at least 30 it would be much more competitive. But this could only come in time. I will try to discuss this with a dev on Reddit if I can.

Ah okay. If you know a dev and can find something out, that would be great.

Would be good if they let private servers change these types of settings to optimise play. Its true what everyone is saying though, it feels like there isn't enough communication per second between the client->server->client.
Combine a 10/s with your ping, that means some serious deviation from where you are in reality and what the servers know.

And the 100ms buffer that the game has. It's no wonder you can be shot at while you are waiting for someone at the end of the hallway by someone who you don't see peek until you are dead.

He stated previously that increasing the tick rate won't solve many things.

Yep. More to do with engine bugs/networking bugs. After I read some of his comments, I got a better picture of what is going on.
