Thought I would make a summary post with a bunch of information that was recently revealed at the BF1 multiplayer reveal today, and also in the future when information is released. If I missed anything, or you have anything to contribute just leave it below and I'll update this post

Game Information

Battlefield website updated with classes (https://www.battlefield.com/games/battlefield-1/classes), modes (https://www.battlefield.com/games/battlefield-1/modes), and maps (https://www.battlefield.com/games/battlefield-1/maps)

Classes

Like blowing up vehicles and close-quarters combat? Play as... the Assault class!
When you hear the rumble of a tank, you've got two options: you can run, or turn and fight. If you're deploying as an Assault in Battlefield 1, you're likely the kind of player that chooses the second path. Assaults come equipped with explosive Gadgets to combat vehicles, making them the go-to Class for taking down stuff that rolls, flies, sails, or does anything besides walk on two legs. These are your classic close-quarters specialists - if you're facing one, you're going to want to engage them from a distance, because once they close the gap you'll lose your advantage.

Want nearly endless ammo for you and your squad? Play as... the Support class!
When you absolutely, positively want to keep your enemy from moving, the Support class provides sustained fire to take out enemies or suppress. Their weaponry is fit for close and medium range and typically has a high rate of fire, letting you lay down a steady stream of bullets towards anyone you'd rather keep in one place. And when it comes to bullets themselves, they've a trick up their sleeve: their Gadgets can keep teammates resupplied or help protect positions.

Enjoy keeping your teammates alive? Play as... the Medic class!
Medic: If you've played a Battlefield game, the cry of "Medic!" is pretty familiar. There's very little more important when fighting than being able to protect the guy besides you, and that's where the Medic class shines brightest. But in Battlefield 1, Medics aren't just trained in the art of keeping their teammates healthy - they can repair vehicles, too. They can still hold their own in the combat department, with medium-range weapons that can put down an enemy so fast that healing an ally might not even be necessary.

Like taking down enemies from far, far away? Play as... the Scout class!
Scout/Recon: Scouts names do a pretty good job of describing what they do. These are your long-range specialist, able to take out enemies from afar with powerful sniper rifles. If you're the kind of player that likes finding a nice, safe hill to hide on and engage enemies from a few hundred meters away, the Scout is definitely for you. But they are instrumental for team play as well - the Scout class can use its range and Gadgets to provide reconnaissance to their team, too, surveying the area and calling out locations for their teammates.

Want to jump into a vehicle and wreak havoc? Play as... the Pilot or Tanker!
Deploy into the driver seat of a plane or tank in Battlefield 1 and you'll eschew your typical class in favor of the two new Vehicle classes. These replace your typical classes, letting you trade in your Medic or Support kit in favor of playing as a Tanker or Pilot. When you're deploying into a tank or a plane, those vehicles are your primary weapon, and you'll be fully absorbed into that role, rather than being an Assault who happens to by flying a biplane.
Classes Q&A

Westie: What are the roles of each Class in Battlefield 1?
Julian Schimek: Every Class can hold their own in battle, but they each have their own specialty. Assaults are experts at blowing up vehicles, Support can resupply teammates, Medics can heal teammates (and vehicles), and Scouts focus on reconnaissance.

Westie: What's the biggest change in the classes from previous Battlefield games?
Julian Schimek: Every Class is now more efficient in combating enemy infantry. They still have different things that make them unique, but we wanted to make players feel like they were able to go toe-to-toe with anyone else they see running around on foot.

Westie: What makes the Classes visually different?
Julian Schimek: We worked hard to give each class their own distinct style in Battlefield 1, while making sure to stay true to the setting and the era. They all have their own little visual quirks that set them apart. Actually, if you look closely in the reveal trailer you can see some hints of this - the Medics, for instance, have crutches on their back!

Westie: What abilities does the Medic have in Battlefield 1?
Julian Schimek: Field medics were really important in that era, and it made sense to give them their own class. From a gameplay perspective, we wanted to upgrade their abilities. We think players are going to really enjoy the new versions of the classes.

Westie: Where did the Engineer class from previous Battlefield games go?
Julian Schimek: Yep – good eye – classic Engineers are no more in Battlefield 1. But worry not, their abilities live on! Besides being able to heal and revive players, the Medic can also repair vehicles, and the Assault class is more focused on taking down vehicles. Assault has both Gadgets and Anti-Tank weapons, making them the go-to for blowing up enemy armor.

Westie: Will the Scout class be purely focused on reconnaissance, or will it on play a direct role in the battle?
Julian Schimek: It's actually a mix of both. Scouts are experts at reconnaissance, and their ability to take down enemies from afar with sniper rifles actually ties well into those abilities. What better time to survey the field and give vital information to teammates than when you're in the distance sniping enemies?Currently Confirmed Modes

CONQUEST
An all-time fan favorite of Battlefield players, Conquest is a large-scale game mode with up to 64 players fighting for the control of key objectives. With large armies on foot or behind the wheel and the addition of fearsome Behemoths, Conquest brings together all the elements of the signature Battlefield All-Out War.

DOMINATION
Domination offers a fast-paced infantry focused combat in close quarter locations. It's a smaller, but more focused version of Conquest, and the fighting revolves around strategic objectives. Ready your shotgun and sharpen your hatchet – in the Domination game mode things tend to get close and personal.

OPERATIONS
Operations is a completely new way to experience Battlefield multiplayer, giving you the opportunity to fight on an entire front of the Great War. In a sequence of inter-connected battles, a team of attackers attempts to conquer ground and push the frontline forward, as the defenders are trying to push them back. Should the defenders fail to hold their ground on a map, the Operation doesn't stop here: they will fall back and regroup on a different map, while the attackers will push the assault. Sectors may fall, but players reinforced by gigantic Behemoths can still turn the tide.

Along the Adriatic coast a fierce struggle for land and life is taking place. A rugged but fortified shore becomes the battlefield for an empire under siege. What was once a beautiful Mediterranean village by the coast is now transformed by mechanized war, where waves and dreadnought battleships pound the remains of Italy's Great War.
Various Information Tidbits
SUPPRESSION
Squads are 4 players
Spotting enemies displays an icon and their health (lol)
Zeppelins spawn around halfway through the match, and are dynamically controller (not like the AC130)
Zeppelins cause mass destruction/levolution when crashing into the ground, and after crashing the hull remains as rubble
Vehicle entry/exit animations - can be shot getting into and out of vehicles
Random weather cycles in addition to day/night cycles
Medium tanks seat 3 & large tanks seat 5
Factions will not mirror equipment/weapons of opposing factions, each side has their own stuff
The spawn screen has been replaced with a birds-eye view of the actual match taking place below you. When you spawn, you zoom in from the birds-eye view to the soldier view in a seamless transition
Conquest tickets apparently counts upwards now? I haven't personally seen it (haven't watched the stream) but this is what I understand from reddit, could be wrong though
Bayonet charge animation + kill (http://imgur.com/AQcNvDV)
Factions speak their own language
Able to request revive on death screen
High climbing/vaulting
Self-repair tanks
Parachutes confirmed
Assault posses anti-vehicle weapons
Medic repairs tanks
Support has landmines and ammo
Recon has anti-vehicle rounds and signal flares to spot people
All firearms damage aircraft
Coma-rose has a main menu with orders, requests, and social, and then sub coma-roses inside those.
Killcam still highlights and tracks around the person who killed you (like in BF4)
Doors can be closed and also bashed through
Players deploying from airships can parachute onto the ground
Animations for switching seats within vehicles
Reloading is apparently slow
Recoil is apparently heavy on MGs
Death screen image (http://i.imgur.com/zx3Pw4u.jpg)
TTK looks really low from gameplay footage

Interesting video that shows the stats of the guns used. The bolt actions gain a damage bubble were you can one shot kill to the body after a bit of distance. Also some of the semi-auto medic weapons have an automatic feature.

ive preordered, i fell into the hype. I figure theyve learnt all the lessons from bf4, had cte for a few years and learnt from hardline/ swbf.

however the more features they talk about sounds exactly like the big dreams they had for bf4, particularly the dynamic weather and destruction that never eventuated. im starting to be a little sceptical.

edit: technically i havent payed yet due to having my paypal account connected to origin. so i could cancel anytime.

Yeah I duno man I'm still burnt and gona give it a bit. More likely than not I'll get sucked in because I'm just a fan of the franchise...and the cycle continues! XD

Apparently there's gona be a beta experience for us to get a taste a month or so before release so that'll be good

I'm not going to make the mistake of buying a game and then playing it for the duration of the hype then to know that the player base is rapidly declining. I want to be able to see if BF1 can maintain a stable player base like it did with BF4 even after all these said games.

Keen for the beta though.

Ready to go boots on the ground at the dawn of all-out war? It's almost time – the Battlefield 1 Open Beta begins on August 31 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Origin for PC.

Battlefield Insider members get early access, and if you sign up by August 21, you can join them as some of the first people in the world to play the Battlefield 1 Open Beta. If you've already signed up, make sure you go to the Battlefield Insider Page and select your platform preference, otherwise you won’t get a code to play early.

The Battlefield 1 Open Beta will include the Sinai Desert map, a scorching hot battlefield located just East of El-Jifar. From infantry skirmishes in the narrow streets of the village of Bir el Mazar to dogfights above the majestic cliffs, you’ll need to make tactical use of the dunes as you engage in explosive battles. When all hope is lost, reinforcements will arrive in the shape of a powerful Behemoth: a deadly Armored Train charging through the desert sands.

Two modes will be available as well:

Conquest.

Rush. A 24-player mode where the Attacking force must find and destroy the Defending force's Telegraph Posts, which can be used to call in artillery strikes. The Defenders can deny the Attackers their mission by disarming explosives they plant on the telegraph positions. Should the Telegraph Posts be destroyed, the Defenders must fall back to the next sector and protect the Telegraph Posts there.
Get your Squad ready to deploy, because on August 31, you're going to experience war on an epic scale in Battlefield 1.

Do people not realise they have a gas mask available as standard? i never thought gas was an issue. just annoying to lose your ability to ads

Its a fantastic tool as an assault class to close the gap and push objectives, nullifying the defender's range advantage as any other class other than the assault. It's also a very effective tool in disorientating squads in confined areas as it forces people to chuck on gas masks when they spawn on their squad and gives you more time to get in and clear them out. There's literally no reason not to use it on an assault class given that they have anti tank grenades which are pretty much the same as normal grenades, just gives you so much extra utility.

In their current state they are too strong. Primarily because you get 2 of them, so people just throw them as soon as they see someone. Which makes trying to play on the few non-shit areas of the maps becomes annoying as there is always gas somewhere.

^ what Squish Said, also i find them being more used for dropping over top of Hills /getting people i can't reach or use them as early warning for people close to me. eg throw it in the middle of a house, get a hit marker, ez, know were they are. and not to worry cos i have a 2nd one free. should be only 1 gas nade, i find myself just spamming them cos how useful & how many i always have cos doesn't take long to sit next to a ammo box and get them back again, at this point i almost just run around with my gas mask on 24/7, even more on argon forest. plus u pretty much should be using Anti tank nades(which u can use just as good on inf) as one of your slots anyway so u have 2 nades already, so 4 nades is pretty nuts to have. +1 to having only 1 gas nade.
