As Joel said a good case will go a long way in cable management, also zip ties are your best friend with cable management, get a pack with assorted sizes (thickness and length) if possible. when you're building your PC, sort the cables without zip tying them until as late as possible for the best results so that you minimize error (and in turn wasting zip ties).

I think I spent 3 hours putting my PC together so that I could get all the cable management as best as possible (but i have an OCD for these sort of things). A modular Power Supply will go a long way as well.

(accidentally expanded on what Joel said, must not have read his post fully and I ended up writing about zip ties when he'd already mentioned that lol)

I would tell you a joke about UDP, but you probably wouldn't get it.

Expanding on what heat said, zip ties are extremely useful for cable management. The variable lengths and thicknesses will allow for the perfect application for any circumstance.

      Just to expand on this,

im not sure if u guys are referring to me regarding the cable management, but the antec 1200 is great for that it has many slits for cable ties etc for that. Thats not my problem with the cpu cooler though, the radiator is physically too long to fit in easily within the case. U have to jam it right up into the fans in the top corner inside the tower. The video explains an easy way from outside the case to do it. i was just really worried because the h100i v2 is slightly longer than the first gen h100i. anyway i bought it already so ill chuck that in on friday or whenever it arrives.

sorry my ego wont let me acknowledge your post

also now that i reread squishes post i agree with the other guys. a decent full sized case with all the cable management stuff can be picked up for around a couple hundred bucks. all the cheaper ones are all midsized and dont allow for much room

I think I have learned enough about cable management and how amazing zip ties are when they come in multiple sizes.

However ideally I would like knowledge on parts. Brand recommendations? or go with current plan of pick a price and choose the one with the coolest colours.

I think your choice of computer case is down to personal preference.

I like corsair products (owning a keyboard, RAM, PSU, & CPU cooler). good quality gear for reasonable prices.

      Samsung make good SSDs

WD Blacks are the best HDDs

Intel for CPU all day err day. 6700k is a great chip and has lots of OC potential.

Mobo choice is mainly down to the features and I/O that you need. I have ASRock and its great. ASUS are great too. Used to have gigabyte but not sure I'd recommend them... I kinda put them in the same category as razor.

and GPU is personal preference. At the mo, you'd have a strong argument that nVidia are leading the market, but its pretty close.

Would deff recommend a sound card. Steer clear of soundblaster stuff. ASUS is where it's at for internal soundcards. I'd be inclined to check out some external Digital-to-Analogue Converter (DAC) if my xonar essence STX were to shit itself as lots of people say they're pretty good. As for headphones, get sennheisers, beyerdynamic, or audio-technica.
