Clean / Optimise your PC !

A couple of little programs listed below that make it easy to maintain your PC in good shape.

      CCLEANER - http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/

      Advanced SystemCare 7 - http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-Sy...-10407614.html

      Glary Utilities 4 - http://download.cnet.com/Glary-Utili...-10508531.html

If you want to read up before you try them out check the CNET reviews. http://download.cnet.com/2701-19409_...rKitCatLinks.0

These are free and can do a range of things in a few clicks. You don't need them all one or two will do the job nicely !

I know Joel found 900+ registry errors and errors and a few in the 800's, post your results or a recommendation for an alternate program.

Do they all do the same thing? What are the differences between them?

There are some differences. Cleaning software is not going to damage your PC so download them all and check them out. My recommendation is to use both CCleaner and Glary Utilities. CCleaner is simple but does a good job, Glary has more features and tools that are also very handy.

It is actually not required to use any cleaning utilities other than MS disk cleaner & defrag.

Both are much more powerful in windows 7 & 8 than their predecessor versions.

Also uninstalls clean up much better than they used to in win XP so there should not be an abundance of registry errors.
If there are, you aren't doing it right.

Furthermore, these "registry cleaners" are unreliable and sometimes delete the wrong entries which actually break things.

The only exception here is C Cleaner as it is able to clean the history / caches etc of some programs (browsers and the like) which MS disk cleaner cannot do.
However you can configure browsers to autoclean or manually clean them, so C Cleaner may not be needed regardless.
