Buy from PCCG? Unless JB is having some sort of sale? In-store is almost always more expensive.

BenQ 27" isn't a lot of detail. I suggest you do some research about monitors and which one you should get for your purpose or perhaps read the previous monitor thread/s.

in my research as per the other thread regarding 144hz monitors i found that the monitors for under 400 bucks either A) wont have a high refresh rate or B) wont have much of a response time, around 4-6ms grey to grey.

What do you want from your monitor specs wise?

I'd go with 144Hz over shit hot picture anyday... especially if I'm mainly playing FPS games. Might be a little different for MOBAs?? anyone?

can definitely enjoy 60hz monitors especially if you're not big on your FPS gaming

I was using my Samsung gaming LED/LCD 60hz 2ms refresh rate for years and loved it..and i was playing DOTA 2 and other games not just FPS.

.but now the 60hz was definitey falling short when it came to FPS gaming, so since i started focussing on FPS games i've moved to a 144hz i can never go back to 60hz :|.

Pirate's right i found the same when i was looking around....under $400 it was hard to find any all-round good 144hz+ monitors

BUT if you're either into alot of non-fps games or happy to accept the weaknesses that 60hz comes with then you'll be right..

Btw what's your current monitor that you're upgrading from? you'd want it to be a noticeable improvement from your current gear

its not a bad monitor however it is only 60hz. aside from probably the size, is it any better than the one you have now?

I also just googled that monitor and found that the price is the same as the benq website, so its not a special price or anything. maybe wait until the model up from that goes on special or something. The model up would be what @Splinter just bought himself the xl2411. (however that is only 24") but it retails for only 100 bucks more normal price.
